Harish Rao allegations on Gurukul schools spark demand for probe

Hyderabad: Harish Rao allegations on Gurukul schools intensified political criticism on Monday after the BRS leader accused the state government of neglecting a girls’ residential school in Jangaon district and demanded an immediate inquiry.

In a post on social media, BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao said conditions at the Gudur Girls Gurukul in Palakurthi mandal had deteriorated. He alleged that there were no teachers to conduct classes and that students were not being provided food on time. He further claimed that reports of occult practices on the campus had created fear among students.

According to Harish Rao, the situation forced students to stage a protest outside the school. He questioned the administration’s response, asking whether officials were unaware of the developments. He demanded that the government conduct a probe into the functioning of the Gudur Gurukul school and initiate strict action against those found responsible.

Harish Rao allegations on Gurukul schools escalate criticism

Harish Rao stated that Telangana’s gurukul institutions had earlier gained national recognition for producing IIT and MBBS rank holders during the previous BRS government. However, he alleged that standards had declined under the present Congress administration.

He said girl students who should have been attending classes were compelled to sit on the road in protest. He demanded that authorities ensure basic amenities and adequate safety for the students without delay.

There was no immediate response from government officials at the time of reporting. The allegations come amid ongoing political exchanges between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS over the condition of residential educational institutions in the state.
