Golconda Zone Police tighten firecracker safety checks ahead of festive season

Hyderabad: Golconda Zone Police stepped up firecracker safety checks ahead of the festive season and directed traders to secure all required licences and departmental clearances. Officials held a coordination meeting with temporary and permanent firecracker vendors at Exhibition Grounds in Nampally on Wednesday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Golconda Zone, Krishna Goud chaired the meeting. ACPs from Goshamahal, Kulsumpura, Tolichowki and Asif Nagar divisions attended. Inspectors from the zone, fire department personnel, GST and Commercial Taxes officials, and firecracker traders also took part.

During the meeting, police officials instructed vendors to obtain valid licences before opening their shops. They also stressed the need to secure clearances from all concerned departments.

Firecracker safety checks focus on equipment and storage limits

In addition to licensing requirements, officials directed traders to install functional fire-fighting equipment at their shops. They also asked vendors to follow prescribed storage limits and maintain all mandatory safety standards.

Police warned that traders who ignored the instructions or violated safety rules would face stringent legal action. Officials stressed that public safety remained the priority.

They further urged vendors to conduct firecracker sales without putting people’s lives or property at risk. The police said traders must follow the safety requirements throughout the festive-season sales period.
