Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy sought Yadav community support for Telangana’s growth, urging the community to back the government’s development plans. These included the Musi River rejuvenation project, Metro Rail expansion and Bharat Future City. Speaking at the Sadar Sammelan celebrations in Hyderabad on Wednesday, he said the government aimed to make Telangana one of the country’s most developed states.
“Our endeavour is to make Telangana the most developed state in the country. We are moving ahead with the development of the Musi Riverfront, expansion of the Metro Rail network and establishment of Bharat Future City. The support of the Yadav community is essential to achieving these goals,” he said.
On the occasion, Revanth Reddy extended greetings to the community and said the government had ensured its representation in political and other important positions. He cited Anil Kumar Yadav’s nomination to the Rajya Sabha. Similarly, Naveen Yadav had been elected as a Congress MLA, while Eshwaramma Yadav had been appointed to the Yadagirigutta Temple Board.
The Chief Minister assured the community that it would continue to receive its due share in representation. He also said the government had a responsibility to protect the community’s self-respect. In addition, the administration was making arrangements to protect cows at the goshala in Yadagirigutta.
Yadav community support for Telangana’s development plans
Turning to the community’s contribution to Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy recalled its historical association with the city. He said people had also known Golconda Fort as ‘Gollamkonda’ in the past.
The government had sanctioned Rs. 5 crore for the Sadar celebrations. It had also granted the event state festival status, he said. Revanth Reddy described Sadar Sammelan as more than a community gathering. Instead, he said it reflected the self-respect of people across Telangana.
He further recalled how members of the Yadav community had welcomed migrants from different parts of the country. Their contribution, he said, had helped shape Hyderabad’s cosmopolitan character. The Chief Minister added that the government had recognised this role by declaring Sadar Sammelan a state festival.
Finally, Revanth Reddy said Telangana had conducted a caste census. He described the exercise as a model for the rest of the country.
