Cyberabad deployed 465 additional personnel for Ganesh immersion security
Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police deployed 465 additional personnel and strengthened Ganesh immersion security across major routes, immersion points and junctions in the commissionerate.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr. M. Ramesh directed officials to work in coordination to ensure peaceful and safe immersion proceedings. He asked officers to remain alert in the field until all immersions were completed.
Ramesh reviewed the arrangements at a meeting of senior officials at the Cyberabad Commissionerate auditorium on Tuesday. He examined the immersion situation, security arrangements and traffic management for each police station.
The commissioner sought details about the number of Ganesh idols already immersed in every police station jurisdiction. He also reviewed the number of idols still awaiting immersion.
Officials briefed him about difficulties faced by the public and Ganesh festival committees. The review also covered traffic congestion, parking problems and difficulties along immersion routes.
Ganesh immersion security focused on crowd management
Ramesh directed officials to take preventive measures to avoid congestion along immersion routes. He called for special traffic management plans at major junctions and immersion points.
Police and traffic personnel were asked to coordinate closely to prevent inconvenience to the public. Moreover, officers were directed to continuously monitor conditions along the immersion routes.
The commissioner instructed officials to immediately deploy additional personnel wherever necessary. Ramesh said coordination among the police, traffic wing, GHMC and other departments remained crucial. Officials were asked to identify and resolve potential problems before they became serious.
He directed field officers to immediately bring any emerging issue to the attention of senior officials. Continuous monitoring was ordered until all immersion activities were completed.
Ganesh immersion security prioritised vulnerable groups
The commissioner directed officials to give the highest priority to public safety at immersion locations. He specifically asked officers to take additional precautions for women, children and elderly people. Police were also told to prevent crowding and pushing at immersion sites.
Barricades and police deployment had to be used effectively to regulate crowds, he said. “Every officer should work in coordination to ensure that Ganesh immersions are conducted peacefully and safely with devotion,” Ramesh said.
He also directed officials to regulate traffic without inconveniencing the public and take preventive measures against congestion. Any problem that emerged had to be immediately brought to senior officers and resolved, he said.
Cyberabad Police brought in 465 additional personnel from other districts and police units in two phases. The first phase brought 189 personnel to Cyberabad, while another 276 personnel arrived in the second phase. The additional forces were assigned to prevent untoward incidents during the immersion proceedings.
The deployment included five Assistant Commissioners of Police and six Circle Inspectors or Reserve Inspectors. It also included 18 Sub-Inspectors or Reserve Sub-Inspectors. In addition, 99 Assistant Sub-Inspectors or Head Constables joined the deployment. About 250 police constables, 11 women constables and 74 home guards were also brought in.
The additional forces came from Jogulamba Gadwal, Wanaparthy and Nagarkurnool districts. Personnel were also drawn from TGPA, PTC Warangal and Multi-Zone-II. The additional teams were deployed along immersion routes, at immersion centres and at major junctions.
They were assigned to traffic regulation, public safety and maintenance of law and order. Police would continue surveillance and security arrangements until the immersion programmes concluded.
Public cooperation sought for Ganesh immersion security
Ramesh asked devotees travelling for immersion to follow police instructions and traffic guidelines. He urged motorists to park their vehicles only at designated parking areas. Devotees were also asked to avoid pushing or crowding at immersion locations.
The commissioner advised families to pay particular attention to children and elderly members during the festivities. In emergencies, people were asked to approach the nearest police personnel. Ramesh sought public cooperation to help police complete the immersion proceedings peacefully and safely.
He reiterated that coordination, vigilance and public safety would remain the priorities until the immersions concluded. CMC Commissioner Srujana and Joint Commissioner of Police Sanpreet Singh attended the review meeting.
Serilingampally DCP Chintamaneni Srinivasa Rao, Kukatpally DCP Rithiraj and Traffic DCP Seshadrini Reddy were also present. Admin DCP Annapurna, Medchal DCP Kotireddy and other senior officials participated in the meeting.
