Eight arrested for attempting wildlife hunting in Narsapur Forest

HYDERABAD: Forest authorities in Narsapur have registered a case against eight individuals for attempting to wildlife hunting in the region. Narsapur Forest Range Officer Aravind provided details of the case during a press briefing at the forest office on Saturday.

According to him, officials received intelligence about a group of eight people from Bonthapalli, Sherkhanpalli, and Nattinayapalli villages assembling in the Nattinayapalli forest area with the intention of wildlife hunting. Acting on this information, forest personnel conducted a raid, took them into custody, and interrogated them.

During the operation, authorities recovered three country-made guns and a knife from their possession. The accused have been booked under the Telangana Forest Act and the Wildlife Protection Act.

Officials confirmed that the arrested individuals have been remanded into judicial custody, and further investigation is underway.
