Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing the Congress government of focusing on events instead of addressing people’s problems.
Speaking at his Kamalapur residence, Eatala alleged that the Chief Minister diverted ₹100 crore from Singareni Collieries to host a football event and build related infrastructure. Meanwhile, he said, workers continue to live in unrepaired houses and await pending salaries.
Congress blamed for financial strain and poll losses
Eatala further claimed that the State government had to borrow funds to pay salaries. He criticised the failure to deposit gas cylinder subsidies and questioned the Congress party’s poor showing in the first phase of local body elections. Despite the absence of party symbols, Congress failed to win even half the seats, he noted.
Moreover, he accused Congress leaders of falsely claiming victories earned by independent candidates. He said the party had yet to implement any of its pre-election promises.
Referring to recent remarks by Telangana Jagruti president K. Kavitha, Eatala demanded a full investigation into her allegations that BRS leaders were involved in large-scale scams. He urged the Congress government to act transparently and hold all culprits accountable.
He ended by appealing to voters to choose candidates with integrity in the second and third phases of Gram Panchayat elections.
