Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Shivadhar Reddy on Monday announced comprehensive municipal poll security arrangements across polling areas, including real-time surveillance and public restrictions to ensure peaceful conduct on February 11.
According to a press release, live webcasting will be used to monitor the voting process at polling stations in real-time. The DGP said restrictions under Section 144 will be in force within a 200-metre radius of each polling centre. These curbs will remain in effect from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on polling day.
During this period, all public gatherings and meetings near polling booths are strictly prohibited.

The DGP confirmed that over 25,000 personnel from civil police, Armed Reserve, and Telangana State Special Police (TSSP), along with other departments, have been deployed for election duties. He assured that all security protocols were firmly in place to maintain order.
Additionally, flying squads and static surveillance teams have been activated statewide to enforce election norms and respond swiftly to violations.
Reddy warned that any breach of prohibitory orders would invite strict legal action. He emphasized that the goal is to ensure smooth, fair, and incident-free municipal elections.
