Hyderabad: Congress will secure a strong result in the Khairatabad bypoll, MLA Danam Nagender said during a party protest rally on Necklace Road. He said the result would shock the opposition.
Nagender joined the Congress rally demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. During the protest, he said the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and other political factors would not influence the constituency.
Meanwhile, the MLA said Congress workers were actively preparing for the bypoll. He also expressed confidence that the party would secure an unexpected victory in Khairatabad.
Khairatabad bypoll campaign draws sharp allegations
During the protest, Nagender criticised the BJP-led Centre and the Election Commission. He alleged that the BJP was engaging in large-scale vote theft by using the Election Commission.
Moreover, Nagender alleged that Union Minister Kishan Reddy won an earlier Lok Sabha election through vote theft. The source presented this as Nagender’s allegation.
At the same time, the MLA demanded CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s immediate resignation. He said the Chief Election Commissioner should maintain impartiality throughout the electoral process.
Nagender also urged the Supreme Court to take suo motu action over what he described as the Election Commission’s handling of electoral matters. He sought appropriate action to protect the democratic system and electoral process.
Finally, Nagender reiterated his confidence in Congress prospects in the Khairatabad bypoll. He said party workers would continue their campaign in the constituency.
