Damodar Rajanarasimha discusses Mallinatha Suri Sanskrit University proposal

Hyderabad: State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha held discussions with Sanskrit scholars and language experts on establishing a Sanskrit university in the name of noted scholar Mallinatha Suri in Medak district.

Former State government advisor K.V. Ramana Chary led the delegation of Sanskrit scholars and language experts during the meeting.

The discussions focused on setting up the proposed institution at Kolcharam in Medak district, where Mallinatha Suri was born.

Sanskrit university proposal receives positive response

Meanwhile, scholars discussed the importance of preserving and promoting Sanskrit language among younger generations.

The Minister reviewed earlier guidelines issued by the Centre and State governments regarding the establishment of Sanskrit universities in different states.

Rajanarasimha held detailed discussions with scholars on the need to promote Sanskrit language and literature. He also welcomed their suggestions and recommendations.

During the meeting, scholars explained that Mallinatha Suri popularised Sanskrit literary works through his commentaries on epics such as Meghasandesam, Kumarasambhavam and Raghuvamsam.

They urged the Minister to establish the university in recognition of Mallinatha Suri’s contribution to Sanskrit language and literature.

Responding positively to the request, Rajanarasimha said efforts should be made to restore the past glory of Sanskrit language.

The Minister also said he would discuss the proposal with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
