Cyberabad Police pay tribute to martyrs on Police Commemoration Day

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty on Tuesday led tributes to police martyrs during the Police Commemoration Day event at the Cyberabad Police Parade Grounds. The ceremony featured a ceremonial guard of honour, floral tributes, and a two-minute silence at the Martyrs’ Memorial.

CAR Headquarters DCP Sanjeev stated that 191 police personnel had lost their lives across India in the past year while on duty. As part of the Commemoration Week, Cyberabad Police launched several public engagement initiatives. These included online open houses for students, essay competitions, and a blood donation camp.

To honour the fallen officers, the department conducted a ‘Roll Call of Honour’. Commissioner Mohanty personally felicitated the families of SI K. Hanumanth Reddy (Amangal), Constable Faheemuddin (Talakkondapally), and Armed Constable Eshwar Rao. He presented them with shawls and expressed his deep gratitude for their service.

Additionally, the force hosted essay competitions across multiple categories. Police personnel from constable to ASI/ARSI ranks wrote on “Gender Discrimination at the Workplace.” Senior officers addressed the topic “Strengthening Ground-Level Policing.” Students, meanwhile, submitted essays on “Drug Menace: Role of Police in Prevention and How Students Can Stay Away from Drugs.” Authorities announced that winners will receive prizes and mementos.

Senior officers join commemoration alongside staff

Several senior officers participated in the event, reinforcing the importance of the occasion. These included Medchal DCP Koti Reddy, Balanagar DCP K. Suresh Kumar, Madhapur DCP Ritiraj, and Rajendranagar DCP Yogesh Goutham. Shamshabad DCP B. Rajesh, DCP Crimes A. Muthyam Reddy, and DCP Women and Child Safety Srujana Karnam also attended.

Officers from traffic and special operations teams, including Madhapur Traffic DCP Sai Manohar and SOT DCP Shoban Kumar, were present. Ministerial staff, ADCsP, ACsP, and inspectors joined in honouring the martyrs.
