Hyderabad: The special week-long drive carried out by Cyberabad police from December 13 to December 19, 2025, focused on women and child safety, officials said.
During night raids, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit apprehended six sex workers and 11 transgenders. Cyberabad police rescued six victims and arrested two accused in two cases booked under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
Cyberabad police strengthen SHE Teams and awareness drive
Meanwhile, Cyberabad SHE Teams conducted 137 decoy operations at public places. The teams caught 66 persons while they indulged in indecent acts. The police booked petty cases in 59 instances. Cyberabad police counselled the remaining persons on the spot. The SHE Teams also received 23 complaints from women through various channels.
In addition, Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres helped resolve disputes between husband and wives. Efforts by the Cyberabad police reunited 22 families during the week.
As part of prevention efforts, AHTU and SHE Teams held awareness programmes across Cyberabad. A total of 7,229 people took part. Officials educated participants on human trafficking, child trafficking, eve-teasing and online harassment. They also spoke about child marriage, child labour, stalking, begging and cyber frauds. The police explained the use of helpline numbers 181, 1098, Dial 100 and cyber crime helpline 1930.
Deputy Commissioner of Police K. Srujana said that continued efforts by the police force in Cyberabad would enhance safety in the region. She added that enforcement and awareness remained key to improving safety.
