Cyberabad police rescue 3 victims during SPL drive

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Women and Child Safety Wing reported that officers rescued three victims and booked multiple cases during a week-long special drive, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police K. Srujana.

The drive, carried out from December 27, 2025, to January 2, 2026, involved coordinated action by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and SHE Teams across the Cyberabad commissionerate. Police registered three cases under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act after night raids and arrested eight accused persons. Officers also apprehended six transgender individuals during the enforcement action.

Cyberabad SHE Teams intensified field surveillance during the period. They conducted 147 decoy operations and caught 45 persons red-handed while indulging in indecent acts at public places. Police booked petty cases in 52 instances, while officers counselled the remaining offenders. The teams also received 26 complaints from women through different reporting channels.

As part of family welfare efforts, police intervened in marital disputes and facilitated the reunion of 22 families through Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres.

Awareness focus during the Cyberabad police rescue drive

Alongside enforcement, AHTU and SHE Teams conducted extensive awareness programmes during the Cyberabad police rescue drive. A total of 3,101 people participated in these sessions held across the commissionerate.

Police educated participants on human and child trafficking, eve-teasing, social media harassment, cyber bullying, cyber frauds, child marriages, child labour, stalking, begging, and child rights. Officers also shared information on emergency helplines, including Women Helpline 181, Child Helpline 1098, Dial 100, and Cyber Crime Helpline 1930.
