Hyderabad: Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and SHE Teams carried out a week-long drive from October 26 to 31, rescuing three victims and arresting five accused in two cases under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
76 caught in public misconduct during SHE Team operations
The SHE Teams conducted 142 decoy operations during the same period. A total of 76 individuals were caught engaging in indecent acts at public places. Police booked petty cases against 51 of them, while the rest were counselled. The unit also received 17 complaints from women through various communication channels.
Efforts at the Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres helped reconcile 29 couples involved in family disputes.
Awareness sessions reach over 220 citizens
To complement enforcement, AHTU and SHE Teams held multiple awareness programmes across Cyberabad. These sessions drew 223 participants and covered key issues such as human and child trafficking, child marriages, cyberbullying, stalking, online frauds, and social media harassment.
Participants were also informed about key helplines including Women Helpline 181, Child Helpline 1098, Dial 100, and Cyber Crime Helpline 1930.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women & Child Safety Wing), K. Srujana, said the police remain committed to protecting vulnerable groups through active enforcement and public awareness efforts.
