Hyderabad: The Communist Party of India (CPI) vowed to intensify its campaign for TGSRTC workers’ rights following the AITUC-EU alliance’s victory in the recognised union elections. The party said it would continue pressing the government to address employees’ long-pending demands.
CPI leaders celebrated the result at Makhdoom Bhavan, the party’s state office, on Saturday. They burst firecrackers and raised slogans highlighting workers’ unity.
CPI Telangana State Assistant Secretary E.T. Narasimha said the victory reflected RTC employees’ trust in AITUC. He added that the result demonstrated the strength of organised labour.
TGSRTC workers’ rights drive focuses on merger and wages
Narasimha urged the state government to merge RTC with the state administration and ensure job security for employees. He also called for resolving pending issues and improving wages and welfare facilities.
The CPI leader asked the government to respect the workers’ verdict and cautioned against attempts to weaken their unity. Meanwhile, he urged RTC employees to strengthen their collective struggle under the leadership of the Red Flag.
Narasimha said workers should continue pressing for their legitimate demands. The CPI reiterated its commitment to intensifying the struggle following the alliance’s election victory.
