Hyderabad: CPI leader K. Narayana congratulated Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) workers after the AITUC-backed Employees Union won the recognition polls. He said the result and support from allied unions should strengthen the collective struggle for workers’ rights.
Narayana said trade union unity must continue beyond the elections to help workers advance their demands. He also stressed the importance of cooperation between the Employees Union and other unions supporting its efforts.
Meanwhile, the CPI leader accused the Congress of politicising the recognition elections. He alleged that the party openly urged workers to “defeat the Communists”, despite the polls being intended to remain independent of political affiliations.
TGSRTC recognition polls highlight need for union unity
Narayana said the Employees Union’s victory reflected the support it received alongside allied trade unions. He called for that unity to continue after the election and contribute to efforts to secure workers’ rights.
The CPI leader reiterated that cooperation among unions should focus on advancing employees’ demands. He urged workers and their organisations to sustain their collective efforts beyond the recognition polls.
