Congress whip vows to defeat BRS, targets 100 assembly seats

Hyderabad: Alair MLA and State government whip Beerla Ilaiah on Sunday declared that Congress would decisively defeat the BRS party in the upcoming assembly elections, setting a target of winning 100 MLA seats.

Responding sharply to BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao’s challenge to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, he said their new campaign slogan would be “Let’s win 100 seats; Let’s defeat BRS party.”

Beerla Ilaiah claimed that even after their defeat in the previous assembly polls, BRS leaders had not let go of their arrogance or political bravado. He accused former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of avoiding assembly debates and confining himself to farmhouses and guest houses rather than facing public issues. He alleged that BRS leaders, while putting up meaningless challenges, were simultaneously trying to malign the Congress government through “Pink Media” funded with money looted and stashed away over the past decade.

Beerla asserted that the Congress, under Revanth Reddy’s leadership, was committed to delivering development while countering such diversionary tactics from the opposition.
