Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan on Monday instructed officials to ensure swift resolution of all grievances submitted during the weekly Prajavani programme. A total of 172 petitions were received across GHMC limits.
Commissioner warns against negligence in grievance redressal
The Commissioner issued these directives after personally reviewing the complaints submitted by citizens at the GHMC head office. He emphasized that no official should neglect their duties when addressing public grievances. Heads of departments were specifically asked to ensure citizens do not return repeatedly with the same issue.
During the public interaction, Commissioner Karnan examined individual petitions and issued immediate instructions to the concerned officers for resolution.
Kukatpally tops with highest number of petitions
The Prajavani session held at the GHMC headquarters recorded 67 petitions, while another 105 were received from six GHMC zones. The Kukatpally zone registered the highest number with 46 petitions, followed by Serilingampally with 20, Secunderabad with 18, LB Nagar with 15, Charminar with 5, and Khairatabad with 1.

Additional Commissioners Raghu Prasad, Satyanarayana, and Venu Gopal, along with CCP Srinivas, Special Deputy Collector for Land Acquisition Ramulu, and Vigilance ASP Narasimha Reddy, were present during the session. Additional CCPs and other senior officials also took part.
