Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation demolished 17 under-construction buildings on Tuesday as it intensified action against CMC unauthorised constructions across its limits.
The enforcement drive covered all three zones of the Corporation. Officials demolished seven unauthorised buildings in Serilingampally Zone. Meanwhile, enforcement teams removed two buildings in Kukatpally Zone and eight in Quthbullapur Zone.
The Corporation also served 11 unauthorised construction notices during the enforcement process. In addition, officials identified 54 unauthorised constructions through different sources for further action.
CMC unauthorised constructions identified through complaints
The Corporation identified the 54 structures through MyCURE, Prajavani petitions and field-level inspections by officials. CMC said the identification and enforcement exercise had continued regularly across its jurisdiction.
The process aimed to detect unauthorised buildings at the earliest stage. Subsequently, officials were expected to initiate action without delay. The latest drive resulted in the demolition of 17 structures across Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur zones.
At the same time, the 11 notices served during the exercise formed part of the Corporation’s enforcement against building violations. The Commissioner directed Town Planning and enforcement teams to conduct daily monitoring at the field level.
Officials were also asked to strengthen mechanisms for identifying CMC unauthorised constructions across the Corporation limits. Moreover, the Commissioner instructed teams to take timely enforcement action under the applicable rules.
Daily monitoring ordered across three CMC zones
The Corporation said it would continue monitoring enforcement activities in all three zones. Officials were directed to maintain regular field inspections to identify new violations before unauthorised construction progressed further.
The enforcement mechanism would also continue using complaints and petitions received through available channels. CMC said the continuing action was intended to improve compliance with building regulations.
The Corporation also linked its enforcement drive to public safety and adherence to applicable construction rules. Town Planning and enforcement officials were asked to maintain coordination while taking action against identified violations.
The CMC unauthorised constructions drive would therefore continue across Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur zones with daily field-level monitoring.
