CM Revanth seeks Centre’s support for Zaheerabad Smart City, defence corridor

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday met Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal in Delhi and urged immediate release of ₹596.61 crore for the development of the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City (ZISC) under the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT).

At the meeting held in Udyog Bhawan, Revanth Reddy requested central financial support for essential infrastructure at ZISC, including water supply and power facilities.

He also sought allocation of funds for the Warangal airport as part of the Hyderabad–Warangal Industrial Corridor and informed the Union Minister that feasibility studies are underway for the Hyderabad–Vijayawada corridor.

Highlighting Telangana’s defence manufacturing push, Revanth said the state has already developed a dedicated Aerospace and Defence Park in Adibatla. He urged that the Hyderabad–Bengaluru Industrial Corridor be designated an Aero-Defence Corridor.

He also proposed development of 100 Plug-and-Play industrial parks across Telangana and sought Centre’s assistance in supporting investment-ready zones.

The meeting was attended by state advisor A.P. Jithender Reddy, MPs Dr. Mallu Ravi, Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy, and senior officials.
