Hyderabad: BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy on Friday accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of ordering illegal surveillance on opposition leaders and public figures, including former CM K Chandrashekar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao, and Harish Rao.
Addressing reporters at Telangana Bhavan, Kaushik Reddy alleged that phones of leaders from not only the BRS but also Congress and BJP were being tapped. He claimed the CM had engaged private hackers to access phones belonging to heroines and others in the film industry.
He further alleged the CM met one such actress at the My Home Bhujagated community, and demanded an inquiry by the Enforcement Directorate and CBI into the matter.
Kaushik Reddy said he had filed a complaint about his own phone and his wife’s phone being hacked, but police had yet to register a case. He also claimed a cabinet meeting was postponed because ministers travelled to Delhi to raise the surveillance issue with the party high command.
“There is going to be a big showdown in Delhi over this,” he said, asserting that even Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were unhappy with the CM’s conduct.
