Hyderabad: A bus accident on Ananthagiri Ghat road in Vikarabad district left three people dead and about 15 others seriously injured on Saturday. The private bus overturned while travelling from Kesaram in Shankarpally mandal to Chintakunta in Dharur mandal for a funeral.
Around 50 people were travelling in the bus when the accident occurred. Another passenger was reportedly in critical condition following the crash.
The passengers had set out with relatives to attend the funeral of a village son-in-law. However, their journey ended in tragedy after the bus overturned on the ghat road.
Bus accident triggers rescue operation on Ananthagiri Ghat road
Local residents rushed to the spot soon after the accident. They began rescue efforts and helped bring injured passengers out of the overturned bus.
The rescuers shifted the injured to Vikarabad government hospital for treatment. Around 15 people sustained serious injuries in the crash.
The accident brought grief to the families travelling for the funeral. Meanwhile, authorities were yet to establish the exact cause of the accident.
