Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed shock over the bus accident on Vikarabad’s Ananthagiri Ghat road that left three people dead and 20 others injured on Saturday. He conveyed his condolences to the families of those who died in the accident.
Revanth Reddy directed State Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju to ensure that the injured received better medical treatment. He also asked officials to take necessary steps for their care.
The private bus was travelling from Kesaram to Chintakunta when it overturned on the ghat road. The passengers were travelling to attend the funeral of a relative who had died earlier.
Bus accident followed reported brake failure
The accident reportedly occurred around 10 am. Police said the bus lost control after a brake failure while travelling along the ghat road.
The vehicle overturned towards the right side. Consequently, several passengers seated on that side sustained injuries, police said.
Three people died in the accident. Another 20 passengers suffered injuries, while four of the injured were reportedly in critical condition.
Following the bus accident, rescue operations continued at the spot. The injured were shifted for medical treatment as officials continued relief efforts.
