Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Thursday accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of misusing public funds and exaggerating investment figures related to the recent Global Summit, while questioning the credibility of signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).
At a press conference, BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank, joined by K. Kishore Goud, Dinesh Chaudhary and Harish Reddy, released a booklet titled Commissions, Contracts, Congress Party – Two Years, alleging large-scale irregularities.
BRS alleges inflated claims, seeks ED probe into MoUs
Krishank claimed the state spent ₹150 crore on the Global Summit only to unveil a “ChatGPT-generated vision document,” which he said lacked original thinking. He contrasted this with international recognition Telangana received under former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, citing praise from former RBI Governor Duvvuri Subbarao and ex-UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.
He further alleged that the Congress government is misusing 13,000 acres allocated for Pharma City by diverting it to real estate ventures, causing investor uncertainty. He claimed pharma companies like Sigachi and Virupaksha had already shifted operations to Kurnool during the summit period.
Dinesh Choudhary accused the government of “cheating the public” by promoting MoUs signed with unreliable and newly formed companies, suggesting many could be shell entities. While the government announced ₹1.74 lakh crore in investments, Choudhary said only ₹9,000 crore had materialized this fiscal year. He demanded an ED investigation into the firms and alleged that one MoU involved “Swachha Bio Company,” linked to CM Revanth Reddy’s brother, raising conflict-of-interest concerns.
The BRS leaders also called for a white paper on the outcomes of the Chief Minister’s foreign visits to Davos, the US, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. They questioned the effectiveness of public spending on events such as the Rahul Gandhi Bharat Summit and the Miss World pageant, seeking data on returns and job creation.
