Former ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy and Satyavathi Rathod also left for Shabad. Former Medak MLA Padma Devender Reddy accompanied them. Further, police intercepted their convoy at Malkapuram Gate in Chevella municipality. Officers later shifted them to Moinabad Police Station.
The detentions triggered a heated argument between police personnel and BRS leaders. Brief scuffles also broke out at the spot. Additionally, BRS workers from several mandals in the Chevella Assembly constituency gathered there in large numbers. The situation turned tense as more party workers arrived.
