Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday accused the Congress and BJP of jointly betraying Telangana. He alleged a covert understanding between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at a party joining event at Telangana Bhavan, Rama Rao claimed that the two parties were faking a rivalry. Behind the scenes, they were working together. He criticised the chief minister for focusing on publicity and ignoring governance. He also blamed the Congress for the urea shortage affecting farmers.
Rama Rao further alleged that Revanth Reddy acted under Modi and Chandrababu Naidu’s directions to damage the Kaleshwaram project. He claimed the goal was to divert Godavari waters to Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Calling Modi and Revanth “Bada Modi” and “Chhota Modi,” he accused both of making false promises and abandoning them.
He also said that the Congress and BJP had shared MP seats in the last elections. According to him, the BJP protected Revanth from inquiries into the Amruth and HCU land scams.
BRS alleges loss of projects and misuse of office under Congress rule
Rama Rao said the BJP-led Centre denied Telangana key projects and investments. These included the ITIR, a Defence Corridor, and ₹10,000 crore in industrial projects. He claimed that Gujarat received these instead. He urged voters to defeat the Congress in upcoming local body elections. Such crises, he said, never occurred under K. Chandrashekar Rao’s rule.
In a separate press meet, BRS leader Manne Krishank accused the chief minister of misusing his position to favour family and close associates. He alleged that Srujan Reddy, the CM’s brother-in-law, received over ₹1,700 crore in contracts through his company Shodha. These included ₹1,137 crore under AMRUT, ₹200 crore from Singareni, and ₹365 crore for Dindi project works.
Krishank also said that KLSR Infra linked to Revanth Reddy’s Land Cruiser received contracts worth ₹600 crore. He claimed thousands of crores in public funds were diverted to the CM’s inner circle. Meanwhile, farmers, youth, and students were struggling. He demanded a response from both Revanth Reddy and the Congress leadership.
