Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao on Friday alleged a secret understanding between the Congress and BRS to protect senior BRS leaders from corruption probes. He accused the Congress-led government of deliberately slowing down key investigations.
According to Rao, the Congress had vowed to jail corrupt BRS leaders within 100 days of taking office. “It has been more than two years, yet not one major leader has faced action,” he said.
BJP challenges Congress to allow full CBI probe into Kaleshwaram
In response to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s claim of a BJP-BRS pact, Rao insisted that the real alliance exists between Congress and BRS. He pointed to the sluggish progress in the phone-tapping and Kaleshwaram project cases as clear signs of political compromise.
Although the government claims it handed the Kaleshwaram case to the CBI, Rao argued the probe focuses only on the quality of three barrages. “It does not touch the core corruption involved in the overall project,” he added.
During a campaign rally in Narsapur, Medak district, Rao openly challenged the Congress: “Do you have the courage to hand over the full Kaleshwaram scam to the CBI?”
Infrastructure problems and tax burden under Congress rule
Rao also criticised the Congress government for its failure to resolve urban civic issues. He noted that several towns continue to suffer from inadequate drainage, unreliable water supply, and frequent power outages.
Moreover, he alleged that the Congress is following in the footsteps of BRS by raising taxes under the pretext of urban development. “People are burdened with unjustified municipal taxes,” he said.
BJP defends Centre’s support and welfare schemes
Taking aim at Revanth Reddy’s claim that the Centre has not supported Telangana, Rao accused the chief minister of spreading falsehoods. He questioned, “Who is giving 5 kg of free rice to low-income families? Who built our highways and modernised railway stations? Who brought the Vande Bharat train?”
He warned that if this trend continues, Telangana will face “Tax Terrorism” under the Congress. To counter this, he urged voters to choose BJP candidates in the upcoming municipal elections for transparent governance and real development.
In closing, Rao called on people to support BJP for the sake of Telangana’s future and their children’s well-being.
Medak MP M Raghunandan Rao, district BJP president Radha Mallesh Goud, Bokka Narasimha Reddy, and several other senior leaders participated in the campaign alongside local party workers.
