BJP alleges appeasement politics by Congress, BRS in Jubilee Hills bypoll

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has accused both Congress and BRS of engaging in appeasement politics during the Jubilee Hills by-election to secure Muslim votes at the cost of broader public interest.

Speaking at a gathering of professionals and ex-servicemen in Erragadda on Thursday, Rao alleged that both parties were catering to the 20% Muslim population while ignoring the remaining 80% Hindu voters. He criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for inducting a Muslim minister just ahead of the election, calling it a politically timed move to sway voters. “We don’t oppose representation, but we question the timing,” Rao said.

He also claimed that the Congress government sanctioned land for a graveyard in a crowded residential zone to please select voter segments. Rao further charged that both Congress and BRS had failed to improve infrastructure or civic amenities in Jubilee Hills.

Describing the Congress candidate as “on rent from MIM,” Rao argued that the real contest was between BJP and AIMIM, and not Congress. He appealed to voters to support BJP candidate Deepak Reddy, saying politics must serve the public, not personal gain.
