Bhatti’s defence confirms coal scam in Singareni: BRS MLC Sravan

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar on Saturday alleged major irregularities in the Singareni Collieries coal tender process, accusing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of favouring his brother-in-law at the expense of public resources. He said Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka’s recent defence statements had, in fact, confirmed the existence of a scam.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, Sravan questioned the government’s reluctance to order a full investigation. “If the tender process is clean, why avoid a comprehensive probe?” he asked.

The BRS leader claimed the government cancelled the tenders only after political pressure and public scrutiny increased. He demanded a clear explanation for the cancellation and the criteria involved.

Sravan also alleged that the Chief Minister had used police agencies and SIT notices to intimidate opposition leaders who produced documents related to the alleged scam. Simultaneously, he accused the CM of orchestrating negative media reports targeting Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka.

He criticised the government’s approach, describing it as driven by a “real estate mindset.” According to Sravan, the Congress-led administration has failed to present meaningful policy initiatives in the last two years and is focused solely on financial gain. He warned that public trust in the government was rapidly declining.

“The people of Telangana will not stay silent. They will demand accountability from those misusing power,” he stated.
