Bhatti Vikramarka accuses BJP and BRS of conspiracy over Azharuddin’s cabinet entry

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka strongly criticised both the BJP and BRS, accusing them of conspiring to block Mohammad Azharuddin’s induction into the Telangana cabinet. He said their actions revealed not just political insecurity but also intolerance toward minority representation.

Bhatti Vikramarka Azharuddin comments highlight BJP-BRS coordination

Addressing reporters at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Bhatti Vikramarka said the Congress government’s decision to include Azharuddin in the cabinet had clearly unsettled both parties. “The BJP’s complaint to the Election Commission exposes its mindset. It cannot tolerate a minority leader gaining prominence based on merit,” he said.

Moreover, he said both BJP and BRS were deliberately running a joint misinformation campaign. “They fear Congress’s growing popularity. Therefore, they are attempting to create communal divides to regain relevance,” he said.

Bhatti links BJP-BRS alliance to Jubilee Hills by-election

Bhatti claimed that the BJP and BRS have long shared an underhand political understanding. “Earlier, during the Lok Sabha elections, BRS helped BJP. Now, BJP is returning the favour in the Jubilee Hills by-election,” he said.

He said both parties turned to religion once defeat became evident. “When victory looked impossible, they resorted to emotional politics. Consequently, their coordination became public,” he said. “These tactics reveal their desperation rather than strength,” he added.

Congress defends Azharuddin’s appointment

Bhatti said no one who genuinely respected Telangana’s spirit would oppose Azharuddin’s inclusion. “He brought immense pride to India as a cricketer. Recognising him in the cabinet honours his contribution,” he said.

In addition, Bhatti condemned BJP and BRS for playing divisive politics. “Instead of celebrating a sports icon, they are turning his name into a communal issue. That is deeply unfortunate,” he said. “Such politics hurts harmony and progress,” he added.

BJP using BRS for political convenience, says Bhatti

Bhatti Vikramarka accused BJP of using BRS whenever it suits its interests. “When cooperation benefits them, they stand together. However, when public backlash grows, they pretend to oppose each other,” he said.

He said BJP was manufacturing controversies to distract from its failures. “They thrive on chaos, not governance. Meanwhile, the Congress government continues to focus on inclusivity and welfare,” he said. “As a result, the people trust our leadership more than ever,” he added.

Congress vows inclusive and transparent governance

Bhatti reaffirmed that the Congress government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, would uphold inclusive development. “We are committed to equal opportunities for every community. Our focus is on unity, not division,” he said.

Therefore, he urged citizens to recognise the BJP-BRS alliance for what it truly is. “Telangana’s people value truth and fairness. They will reject those who play politics with religion,” he said.
