Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar demanded a comprehensive probe into the Adilabad RIMS fire that claimed the lives of newborns in the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) ward. He also expressed shock and grief over the deaths.
Bandi Sanjay conveyed his condolences to the families of the infants who lost their lives. He described the deaths as deeply distressing and said the incident had caused him great anguish in a post on X.
He called on the authorities to establish the circumstances behind the hospital fire. According to Bandi Sanjay, the inquiry should examine all aspects of the incident.

Bandi Sanjay said authorities should identify those responsible if the inquiry finds negligence by the hospital management or staff. He demanded immediate legal action against those found responsible.
At the same time, he stressed that hospitals must not compromise on fire safety and preventive measures. He particularly highlighted the need for strict safety standards in newborn and children’s wards.
Furthermore, Bandi Sanjay urged authorities to inspect fire safety arrangements at hospitals across Telangana. He called for stronger preventive measures to ensure that similar incidents do not recur.
Meanwhile, the Adilabad RIMS fire continued to draw attention to fire safety arrangements in hospitals as authorities faced demands for a detailed investigation.
