Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed shock and grief over the Adilabad RIMS fire that killed two infants in the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) ward. He conveyed his condolences to the parents of the children who died in the incident.
According to the details available, a short circuit caused an AC unit in the ward to explode. As a result, flames and dense smoke spread through the ward where the infants were undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy sought details from senior officials about the incident and its severity. He directed the medical and health department officials to provide the best possible treatment to the infants affected by the fire.
In addition, the Chief Minister ordered officials to monitor the health of the remaining children continuously. Some infants suffered injuries or breathing difficulties during the incident.
Adilabad RIMS fire prompts hospital safety review
Following the Adilabad RIMS fire, Revanth Reddy ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the incident. He directed officials to determine the exact cause and submit a report immediately.
At the same time, he instructed authorities to strengthen fire safety and preventive measures at all government hospitals in Telangana. He stressed the need to prevent similar incidents from recurring in state-run hospitals.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed the health department to maintain continuous monitoring of the affected infants. Officials must ensure that the children receive appropriate medical care.
Meanwhile, authorities continued examining the circumstances surrounding the fire at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad. The two infants had been receiving treatment in the SNCU ward when the fire broke out.
