Hyderabad: The MLAs representing Agency constituencies urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to allot an additional 2,000 Indiramma houses in tribal Assembly segments.
The demand was submitted through a memorandum during a meeting at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat. The delegation was led by Panchayat Raj Minister Dansari Anasuya Seethakka and comprised tribal legislators.
Agency constituencies seek wider tribal welfare measures
Besides seeking additional housing, the delegation requested the government to grant land titles for podu lands in tribal areas. It also urged the state to implement the Indira Giri Jala Vikasam scheme.
Furthermore, the legislators sought stronger Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs). They also requested the government to upgrade tribal Ashram schools up to the Intermediate level.
The MLAs who met the Chief Minister included Jare Adinarayana, Payam Venkateswarlu, Koram Kanakaiah, Tellam Venkat Rao and Vedma Bojju. Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Adluri Laxman Kumar and Mohammed Azharuddin were also present during the meeting.
