Hyderabad: ACB officials caught an Assistant Divisional Engineer in a bribe case while he accepted Rs 30,000 in Devarakonda of Nalgonda district.
Sirikonda Saidulu, working as an Assistant Divisional Engineer, demanded a bribe from a complainant. He took the amount for processing and forwarding a bill worth Rs 10 lakh.
Officials said the bill related to electrical restoration work of a damaged 33/11 kV line. The line was affected during a storm on October 29, 2025.

ACB officials conducted a trap and caught the officer while taking the bribe. They initiated legal proceedings against him.
Authorities reiterated that demanding or accepting bribes is a punishable offence. Moreover, they urged citizens to report corruption without hesitation.
The ACB asked the public to contact its toll-free number 1064 in case of any such demand. In addition, citizens can lodge complaints through WhatsApp, Facebook or the official website.
Officials assured that they will keep the identity of the complainants confidential.
