Youth dies in road accident near Model School on Siddipet-Warangal highway

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old youth dies in a road accident on the spot after a speeding car hit his two-wheeler near the Model School on the Siddipet-Warangal National Highway. This tragic incident occurred on Thursday evening.

According to local residents and Sub-Inspector Ubedullah, the deceased was identified as Koppula Anji, a native of Koppur village in Bhimadevarapalli mandal. Anji worked as a milk van driver and was traveling towards Hanumakonda on a two-wheeler from Mulkanur. At that time, a car coming from Hanumakonda and heading towards Siddipet struck him. It’s another unfortunate instance where a youth dies in a road accident, highlighting the critical need for road safety.

Anji sustained a severe head injury in the collision and died instantly. Based on a complaint lodged by his father Kumara Swamy, police have registered a case and taken up investigation. Tragedies where a youth dies in a road accident are becoming increasingly common, prompting ongoing concerns.

Helmet could have saved life, say police

Police officials expressed anguish that Anji was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Despite repeated appeals, they said, failure to use helmets continues to cost lives. “If he had been wearing a helmet, he might have survived with injuries,” an officer remarked.
