Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a Revenue Inspector in Warangal district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for processing mutation of ancestral property.
The accused, Gattikopula Rambabu, was working as Revenue Inspector in the Tahsildar Office at Duggondi Mandal. According to ACB officials, he allegedly demanded the money from a complainant to conduct a field enquiry, submit a verification report and process the mutation file.
Officials said the Revenue Inspector bribe case came to light after the complainant approached the ACB, following which a trap was organised.
During the operation, ACB officials recovered the tainted cash from the possession of the accused officer.

The ACB stated that the officer had misused his official position to obtain undue advantage from the complainant.
Officials arrested Rambabu and later produced him before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal.
The identity of the complainant has been withheld by the agency for security reasons. Officials said further investigation into the bribe case was continuing.
