Hyderabad: Viral fever Jagtial claimed the lives of two six-year-old children from the same village within two days, prompting health authorities to organise a medical camp. Both children died while undergoing treatment after their conditions worsened.
According to family members, Kamuni Varun Tej, son of Kamuni Arjaya and Sarita from Porandla village in Jagtial Rural mandal, had been suffering from a high fever. He was admitted to a private hospital in Jagtial before doctors referred him to Karimnagar, where he died on Thursday during treatment.
The second child, Harshmith, son of Dannula Naresh and Kaveri, lived opposite Varun Tej’s house. He had reportedly been suffering from what the family described as a toxic fever. Doctors first admitted him to a private hospital in Jagtial before shifting him to Karimnagar. However, he died on Friday while receiving treatment.

Both children studied at a private school in the Jagtial district headquarters. Their deaths within two days raised concern among local residents.
Consequently, health officials organised a medical camp in Porandla village to monitor the situation and examine residents. However, authorities have not publicly confirmed the exact cause of the two deaths beyond reports that the children were suffering from fever.
