Hyderabad: Vodafone Idea (Vi) has signed a 25-year agreement with ACES India Private Limited to provide 4G and 5G connectivity across Mumbai Metro Aqua Line-3. The deal adds Vi to ACES India’s multi-operator digital infrastructure network.
Through the agreement, Vi customers will access mobile services across underground tunnels, stations, concourses and platforms. As a result, commuters will have voice, data and digital connectivity along the metro corridor.
The latest partnership adds another leading telecom operator to ACES India’s neutral infrastructure platform. ACES India operates as a neutral digital infrastructure company and is a wholly owned subsidiary of ACES.
Mumbai Metro Aqua Line-3 stretches about 33.5 kilometres between Aarey JVLR and Cuffe Parade. It has 27 stations and connects key commercial, residential and transport hubs across Mumbai.

The network can ultimately serve more than 625 million passengers annually. Meanwhile, Vi’s deployment will keep customers connected while they travel through underground sections of the route.
The service will support communication, entertainment, digital services and productivity applications. In addition, it will expand Vi’s connectivity across a high-density public transport environment.
Dr Akram Aburas, Group CEO of ACES, welcomed Vi to the infrastructure network. He said the 25-year agreement marked another step towards building a multi-operator connectivity ecosystem.
Similarly, Mohammed N. Mazher, Managing Director of ACES India, said Vi’s addition would strengthen the platform across the metro route. He said the infrastructure would give telecom operators a scalable platform for complex underground environments.
Jagbir Singh, Chief Technology Officer at Vi, said reliable connectivity had become increasingly important as digital consumption grew. He said the partnership reflected Vi’s focus on providing 4G and 5G services across public transit networks.
Furthermore, the agreement strengthens ACES India’s role as a neutral infrastructure provider. Its shared platform allows multiple telecom operators to deliver mobile services through high-density public infrastructure.
With Vi now joining the network, ACES India will continue developing a scalable connectivity platform for Mumbai Metro Aqua Line-3. The agreement covers a 25-year deployment period.
