Hyderabad: A woman techie was allegedly molested by a security guard while boarding a cab in Gachibowli’s Indira Nagar area. Police took the accused into custody within hours.
After finishing work, the 24-year-old software engineer prepared to return home. At that point, the security guard allegedly approached her and forcibly pulled her aside.
He then allegedly kissed her without her consent. In response, the woman raised a loud alarm, prompting the accused to flee from the spot.
The victim subsequently approached Gachibowli police and lodged a complaint. Following the complaint, police reached the location and examined CCTV footage from nearby areas.

Based on the footage, police identified the accused as Rajkumar, a security guard from Jharkhand. Investigators examined footage from the surrounding area to establish his identity.
Within hours, police traced Rajkumar and took him into custody. They also registered a case under sections relating to sexual harassment and assault.
Meanwhile, police questioned the accused as part of their investigation. Officers continued examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The alleged molestation occurred in an area where many IT employees live. Consequently, the incident caused concern among women working in the locality.
At the same time, police continued their investigation after taking the accused into custody. Further details were awaited.
