Hyderabad: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu inaugurated Wings India 2026 at Begumpet Airport on Wednesday, marking the start of one of Asia’s largest civil aviation events.
The four-day event began today and will continue until January 31. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the programme highlights the growth of Indian aviation and outlines the future of global air travel.
Meanwhile, global aerospace leaders, aircraft manufacturers and government delegations from more than 20 countries arrived in Hyderabad to participate in the event. As a result, the city once again drew international attention in the aviation sector.
Officials said hosting Wings India 2026 at the historic Begumpet Airport underlined Hyderabad’s growing importance in the country’s aviation landscape. They added that the event reflected India’s rising role in the global civil aviation ecosystem.
Wings India 2026 brings global aviation leaders to Hyderabad
The programme features a large international exhibition along with static aircraft displays. In addition, aerobatic flying shows have been scheduled to attract aviation enthusiasts and the general public.
Moreover, the event includes a high-level global aviation conference, CEO roundtables and focused business meetings. Organisers have also lined up B2B and B2G interactions, an aviation job fair and a student innovation competition.
Delegations from over 20 countries are attending Wings India 2026. These include Cambodia, Ghana, Russia, Seychelles, Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore, Algeria, Iran, the Maldives, Oman, Qatar, the European Union, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the United States.
Accordingly, officials said the event aims to serve as a single platform for policymakers, airline heads, investors, startups, training institutes and technology providers. The theme of Wings India 2026 is Indian Aviation: Paving the Future.
The theme focuses on design, manufacturing, safety and sustainability. At the same time, it highlights innovation and inclusion across the aviation sector.
From next-generation aircraft to emerging urban air mobility concepts, the exhibition reflects India’s technology ambitions. It also showcases Hyderabad’s growing role as a national aviation and innovation hub.
Officials said Wings India 2026 goes beyond an airshow. Instead, it combines industry dialogue, career opportunities and public engagement under one roof.
