Hyderabad: Police announced traffic diversions in Khammam on January 18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is in view of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit, according to Traffic ACP Srinivasulu.
As per orders from Commissioner Sunil Dutt, restrictions will be enforced across the city to manage congestion. Commuters are advised to use alternate routes and avoid unnecessary travel during the restriction window.
Police issue route plan to ease traffic congestion
Heavy vehicles and lorries will be held at designated holding points to prevent disruption. Traffic officials urged residents to keep their vehicles off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
Vehicles traveling from Khammam towards Hyderabad must take the following alternate route: Rajahmundry–Deverapalli–Jangareddygudem–Ashwaraopet–Sattupalli–Bhadrachalam–Kothagudem–Manuguru. Then they must enter the Greenfield Highway at Kalluru or Wyra (near Somavaram village). From there, they must exit at Kodumuru and travel via Allipuram to reach Bonakal Road. They then rejoin the highway at Dhamsalapuram Bridge.
Route changes for incoming and outgoing vehicles
Vehicles from Hyderabad heading to Bhadrachalam/Kothagudem/Sattupalli must exit at Ponnekallu and take the Greenfield Highway to Venkatagiri Cross Road. Furthermore, small vehicles must detour via Prakash Nagar, Church Compound, Mustafa Nagar, and Allipuram. They must then pass under Kodumuru Highway Bridge to reach the Vyra Road near the new Collectorate.
Vehicles from Sattupalli/Ashwaraopet going to Warangal must proceed through SR Garden, Raghunathapalem Apple Center, and Lingala. Afterward, they should continue via Dornakal–Mahabubabad.
Traffic from Illandu into Khammam town must go via Raghunathapalem Apple Center, SR Garden, Gopalapuram, Gollagudem, and Lakkaram.
From Warangal, small vehicles heading to Khammam/Sattupalli/Kothagudem must take the Edulapuram X Road to Warangal Cross Road. Then they must reach Naidupeta and proceed via Gandhi Chowk, Church Compound, Mustafa Nagar, Allipuram, and under the Kodumuru Highway Bridge. They will then reach Vyra Road near the new Collectorate.
