Traffic diversions for Independence Day at Golconda Fort

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police has announced detailed traffic diversions and parking arrangements for Independence Day 2025. The official celebration is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on August 15 at Rani Mahal Lawns, Golconda Fort. Therefore, authorities will block traffic between Ramdevguda and Golconda Fort from 6 a.m. to 12 noon.

Diversions in place to ease congestion

To regulate traffic efficiently, police will implement diversions at several key points:

  • Vehicles from Seven Tombs must reroute via Jamali Darwaza using Golf Club Lane.
  • Traffic approaching from the GHMC Ground or the GHMC Island will divert toward Mothi Mahal X Road near the Golconda Bus Stop.
  • At Tawakal Store, vehicles coming from Bada Bazar must take a detour toward GHMC Island.
  • Local traffic from Chota Bazar will shift toward Mothi Darwaza through Ibrahim Medical Hall.
  • At Ramdevguda ‘T’ Junction, vehicles from Narsingi and Tippu Khan Bridge must turn back before reaching the fort.

Parking is separated by designation

To avoid parking conflicts, officials have designated zones based on category:

  • VIPs, ministers, and MLAs must use the area from Bala Hisar to Bada Bazar Mosque.
  • Senior government officers should use the Golconda Bus Stop parking.
  • Government and non-government dignitaries must park at the Football/Boys Ground opposite Golconda L&O Police Station.
  • Police and other government staff will use the GHMC/Owaisi Ground.
  • Award recipients and media must proceed to Area Hospital, Golconda.
  • General visitors are advised to park at Seven Tombs, Deccan Park, or Huda Park.

Traffic control at Secunderabad Parade Grounds

Meanwhile, officers will also manage traffic near Secunderabad Parade Grounds. They will divert vehicles at Tivoli Junction toward Brooke Bond and N.C.C. Junction. Furthermore, traffic from Tivoli to Plaza will remain restricted between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Police urge the public to follow directions
