Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory for the Christmas Feast celebrations scheduled at LB Stadium on December 20, which the Chief Minister is scheduled to attend.
According to officials, police planned traffic restrictions and diversions between 5 pm and 10 pm, depending on the situation on ground. Therefore, the traffic advisory aimed to regulate vehicle movement around the stadium and surrounding roads during the programme.
Under the traffic advisory, traffic coming from A.R. Petrol Pump Junction towards BJR Statue would divert at A.R. Petrol Pump towards Nampally Railway Station. Meanwhile, vehicles moving from Basheerbagh towards A.R. Petrol Pump would turn at BJR Statue towards SBI, Abids and the Nampally Station road.
Traffic advisory lists junctions to avoid on December 20
As part of the traffic advisory, police urged commuters to avoid key junctions between 5 pm and 10 pm. These included Lakdi Ka Pool, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad Traffic Police Junction, Basheerbagh, BJR Statue Circle, SBI Gunfoundry, A.R. Petrol Pump, KLK Building and Liberty.
Similarly, traffic approaching from Sujatha School lane towards Khan Lateef Khan building would divert at Sujatha School junction towards Nampally. However, police said they would enforce the diversion based on real-time traffic flow.
Meanwhile, RTC officials adjusted bus operations in line with the traffic advisory. Accordingly, buses running from Ravindra Bharathi towards BJR Statue would divert at A.R. Petrol Pump towards Nampally Railway Station, depending on traffic conditions.
Therefore, traffic police requested citizens to plan their travel in advance and take alternative routes. Additionally, officials asked commuters to cooperate with personnel on duty. In case of inconvenience, commuters could contact the Hyderabad Traffic Police helpline at 9010203626.
