Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) General Secretary Chanagani Dayakar on Sunday strongly rebutted allegations made by BRS leader Harish Rao on irrigation projects, accusing him of betraying farmers in Nalgonda and Palamuru districts.
Earlier in the day, Harish Rao, a former minister, made a PowerPoint presentation on irrigation projects at Telangana Bhavan. During the presentation, he alleged that the Congress government, after the merger of Telangana with Andhra Pradesh, cancelled projects that would have benefited the region.
Responding at Gandhi Bhavan, Dayakar alleged that Harish Rao failed to face the people and questioned his absence from the Assembly. He asked why the Palamuru–Rangareddy project remained incomplete despite the BRS being in power for ten years.
Dayakar further alleged that former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Harish Rao enriched themselves in the name of irrigation projects. He questioned why the BRS leadership showed priority for the Kaleswaram project but neglected the Nalgonda and Palamuru districts.

The TPCC leader claimed that Nalgonda and Palamuru districts suffered greater injustice during the decade-long rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi than during the undivided Andhra Pradesh period. He also made sharp remarks, accusing BRS leaders of compromising Telangana’s self-respect.
Dayakar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Congress government would ensure justice to farmers in Nalgonda and Palamuru districts. He asserted that the party would not allow any injustice to Telangana and would fight resolutely to protect farmers’ interests.
