Hyderabad, January 25: Telangana Congress President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud has demanded an immediate public apology from Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, over his recent comments about former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Goud described Sanjay’s remarks as derogatory and indicative of a lack of respect.
Goud highlighted the significant investments secured during the Congress administration, citing the influx of Rs 1,78,950 crore into Telangana since its formation. He criticized the former CM KCR for failing to provide employment opportunities over the past decade, alleging that the state has been plunged into debt under his leadership.
He announced that on Republic Day, the government plans to launch several welfare schemes, including Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Housing, ration cards, and Indiramma Aathmeeya Bharosa. Goud asserted that the Congress government is committed to supporting the underprivileged, even amidst financial challenges.
He also criticized the BRS leaders’ comments on development, likening them to “ghosts reciting scriptures,” and predicted that the BRS would fragment into four factions by the upcoming elections, leaving only the father-son duo at its helm
