TIMS hospital part of major push to strengthen Telangana healthcare: KTR

Hyderabad: The TIMS hospital set up at Sanath Nagar is part of a major initiative to strengthen Telangana’s healthcare infrastructure, BRS working president and former minister K. T. Rama Rao said.

Responding on X, KTR said the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences at Sanath Nagar reflected a broader vision to expand quality healthcare services across the state. Moreover, he said the previous government focused on building large public hospitals to ease pressure on existing facilities.

He further said the earlier BRS government conceptualised and implemented four TIMS hospitals in Hyderabad. In addition, the government expanded the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and planned the construction of the largest hospital in Telangana at Warangal.

According to KTR, these projects formed part of a long-term healthcare vision drawn up under the leadership of K. Chandrashekar Rao. As a result, the government aimed to build a strong public healthcare network accessible across regions.

He also recalled that the previous government established multi-specialty hospitals attached to medical colleges in all 32 district headquarters. Consequently, advanced treatment facilities became available alongside medical education institutions.

Taken together, KTR said these measures helped expand secondary and tertiary healthcare services across Telangana. He added that the TIMS hospital network and allied projects marked a significant step in strengthening state-run healthcare infrastructure.
