Hyderabad: A soldier from Telangana’s Warangal district died by suicide while on duty in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district. The deceased, Nagaraju, was serving at the Saroj outpost near the international border.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 18. According to military officials, Nagaraju used his service revolver to shoot himself while on sentry duty. His body was handed over to his family on Tuesday morning.
Nagaraju hailed from Narsampet and had been stationed in a sensitive area. His relatives believe domestic issues may have pushed him to take the extreme step.
Both military authorities and local police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
