Telangana PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud criticised BJP leader Bandi Sanjay for religious provocation and politicising India’s victory against Pakistan in Dubai.
HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud has accused BJP leader and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay of repeatedly using religious sentiments to provoke the public. He alleged that Bandi Sanjay attempted to gain political mileage from India’s victory against Pakistan in a cricket match held in Dubai.
Speaking to the media in Karimnagar, Mahesh Kumar Goud criticised Bandi Sanjay’s remarks, stating that presenting India’s victory over Pakistan as a political success for the BJP was shameful. He further accused BJP leaders of habitually seeking votes in the name of Lord Ram and clarified that the Congress party has never used religion for electoral gains.
Criticism of BJP’s Politics
The PCC chief stated that BJP leaders were portraying Lord Ram as if he had founded their party, solely to secure votes. Instead of presenting their achievements from the last 11 years in power, he alleged that the BJP was attempting to divide the public using Hindu-Muslim and India-Pakistan narratives.
Mahesh Kumar Goud advised Bandi Sanjay to focus on the development of Karimnagar and work for the welfare of his constituency rather than engaging in divisive politics.
Lack of Contribution from Telangana’s Union Ministers
He also criticised Union Ministers Bandi Sanjay and G. Kishan Reddy, stating that they had done little for Telangana’s development. Furthermore, he condemned the BJP’s opposition to the caste-based survey, which he claimed was an initiative to help backward communities.
Highlighting the efforts of the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government, Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that the administration was working to provide 42% reservations for backward classes. He urged BJP leaders to pressure Prime Minister Narendra Modi to include these reservations under the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution, ensuring their implementation at all levels.
