Telangana signs MoU with Blaize to boost AI and semiconductor sectors

Hyderabad: Telangana moved closer to its goal of becoming a global tech hub by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with California-based AI firm Blaize at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos.

The agreement was signed during a meeting between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Blaize Co-Founder and CEO Dinakar Munagala. It aims to boost the state’s efforts in electronics, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence (AI). A key focus is on expanding Blaize’s R&D centre in Hyderabad.

Blaize builds energy-efficient AI hardware and full-stack software for data-centre computing. It already runs a research and engineering unit in Hyderabad. Talks focused on scaling this centre and strengthening Telangana’s AI capabilities.

Revanth Reddy said Telangana’s plan to become an AI data-centre hub is central to its $3 trillion economic vision. He noted the state’s progress in AI, quantum computing, automation, and next-gen hardware.

IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu announced the launch of the Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH). This hub will serve as the nerve centre for AI-led growth. He welcomed Blaize’s expansion plans and promised full support for AI talent and research.

Both parties also discussed pilot AI projects in healthcare, manufacturing, and energy. These align with Telangana’s broader push for inclusive, tech-driven development.
