Hyderabad: The Telangana government has launched subsidised urea booking through all MeeSeva centres across the state to make fertiliser distribution easier, more transparent and timely for farmers. The Agriculture Department introduced the initiative in collaboration with MeeSeva, which functions under the IT and Industries Department headed by Minister D. Sridhar Babu.
The facility allows farmers who cannot access the Fertiliser Booking App to reserve urea through their nearest MeeSeva centre. Farmers must visit the centre with their Pattadar Passbook (PPB) number.
Subsidised urea booking available at MeeSeva centres
MeeSeva operators will collect farmers’ details and record information on cultivated area and crops. Meanwhile, they will reserve the required quantity with the fertiliser dealer selected by the farmer.
After the farmer verifies the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to the registered mobile number, the system will generate a Booking ID immediately. Further, the Booking ID will remain valid for 48 hours, excluding the date of reservation.
Farmers must purchase the fertiliser from the selected dealer before the Booking ID expires. Additionally, the Agriculture Department advised farmers to use only the official Fertiliser Booking App or MeeSeva centres for the reservation process.
Farmers should also keep the mobile number linked to their Pattadar Passbook active to receive OTPs. MeeSeva will provide the service for a nominal fee of ₹10.
Finally, farmers can contact their Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO), Mandal Agriculture Officer (MAO) or the nearest MeeSeva centre for assistance. The Agriculture Department urged all eligible farmers to use the official booking system to obtain the fertiliser.
