Hyderabad: The Telangana Government on Tuesday took a key administrative decision in the police department by promoting six IPS officers to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police. This decision marks an important step in the IPS officers promotion process, ensuring leadership growth within the department.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao issued official orders in this regard. The promotions were granted as part of routine administrative restructuring within the police establishment.
IPS officers promotion to DIG rank notified
The officers promoted to the DIG rank belong to the 2012 IPS batch. The list includes N. Swetha, R. Bhaskaran, G. Chandana Deepti, Kalmeshwar Shingenavar, S. M. Vijay Kumar, and Rohini Priyadarshini. Such strategic IPS officers promotion endeavors are pivotal in honing effective leaders in the law enforcement sector.
According to the orders, N. Swetha will continue as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad city. R. Bhaskaran will remain Superintendent of Police (Civil Intelligence). Meanwhile, G. Chandana Deepti will serve as Superintendent of Police (Railways), Secunderabad.
S. M. Vijay Kumar will continue as Commissioner of Police in Siddipet district. The remaining promoted officers will be assigned postings as per future administrative requirements. Ensuring a fair IPS officers promotion system contributes to the broader organizational structure’s success.
As per the government order, all six officers will assume charge in the DIG rank from January 1, 2026. Officials said the phased implementation aligned with cadre management norms and service rules, facilitating smooth IPS officers promotion procedures for maintaining order.
